Sweeny Photography specializes in high school seniors, family and commercial imagery. The studio is conveniently located around the corner of the Grove City Outlets, minutes from I-79 on Route 258 South towards Slippery Rock. Shawn Sweeny, Owner and Chief Photographer of Sweeny Photography, is nationally known for his amazing photography. He has won Best of Show and three-time Illustrative winner at Senior Photographers International, best commercial entry at Professional Photographers of America in PA, three blue ribbons out of four entries at the 2017 Professional Photographers of America's International Photographic Competition, and was awarded Photographer of the Year at Ohio's Akron Society for Professional Photographers for two years running.  All of the awards come from hard work and dedication throughout the year. Mr. Sweeny's goal is to make every portrait that leaves the studio perfect. If a panel of judges like it, that is great, but what he really strives for is to thrill the clients with awesome portraiture they can't get anywhere else. He even custom-built lighting equipment not available on the market so he would be able to make one-of-a-kind portraits.

Shawn Sweeny was presented with the Professional Photographers Service Award, given to a person who helps other photographers through professional organizations.  He has won the region's "Best of the Best" Reader's Award for Photography every year he is nominated, and also the highly esteemed "Silver Spruce Award" for contributing and investing in Grove City's future. Mr. Sweeny served on the Board of Governors for the Professional Photographers of PA in various roles for over four years, and has served on the Board of the Grove City Chamber of Commerce for eight years. He is also a proud and active member of the Rotary International, and is very active volunteering within his community.

Shawn Sweeny has been professionally taking portraits for over twenty years. He has taught photography and business at Pennsylvania State University, California State University of PA and Pittsburgh Art Institute. He has also spoken at state conferences in New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Mr. Sweeny offers basic photography instruction in his studio several times a year, and occasionally offers multi-day professional lighting workshops in his studio.
